We follow some stricts protocols for disinfection and decontamination of a facility that has a confirmed case of COVID 19
Step 1: Proper PPE – Personal Protective Equipment
The main concern is to protect technicians with proper PPE (gloves, goggles, N95 respirators, and full-body disposable suits) If not done correctly, contamination of COVID 19 can be carried out of the building and to the other technicians, the vehicle, and ultimately their workplace. The second is to train technicians to don and remove PPE correctly.
Step 2: Cleaning
Ensure proper cleaning is done prior to the disinfection process. Surfaces must be clean using a proper detergent or cleaning solution.
Step 3. Disinfection
Choose the disinfectant carefully, mix according to directions, and ensure proper dwell time. Depending on the product, wiping down must be followed.
Caution: These steps seem straightforward, however, not properly doing any one of them can cause the virus to continue to be a threat. Step three is vital and requires a plan that considers sensitive equipment, wood surfaces, fine fabrics, files, and papers, etc. Every environment needs personal attention and a proper plan to protect everyone.
